Acne

Acne can occur at any age, and is incredibly common in women in their 20s to 30s, often from a hormonal influence. Breakouts can occur from a combination of normal bacteria, sweat gland activity, and microscopic or visible pore clogging. We will customize therapy to your skin type and medical history, focusing on hydration, cleansing, correcting bacteria balance, and good exfoliation. Board-certified dermatologists such as Dr. Channing R. Barnett and Dr. Jay G. Barnett specialize in the treatment of acne.

Treatment options include: topical prescription solutions and creams, various oral medicines from antibiotics to Accutane, at-home care, and in-office procedures such as acne facials, acne surgery, Silkpeel Dermalinfusion and Isolaz.

Regarding pregnancy, certain medications are considered safe to use. These would include topical (cream, gel, lotion) antibiotics such as topical clindamycin or erythromycin. We do not recommend use of any products containing salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide, or use of any of the retinoids.
