Sagging Skin

Sagging skin occurs with aging as the underlying collagen and elastin fibers of the skin begin to break down and wear out. While this breakdown is part of the natural aging process, it can also result from sun exposure and smoking. As these changes are taking place, gravity is also at work, pulling at the skin and causing it to sag. Numerous treatment options are available to treat sagging skin including Botox, liquid injectable silicone, other tissue fillers, chemical peels, laser resurfacing and skin tightening.
